Filmed Drag Performance
Featured Artists: Wanda Whatever, Prinx Silver, Vagenesis, Nancy Nogood, Boudoir LeFleur, & China Moon
See your favorite Drag Performers showcase a year of art, resilience, and creativity as Queens Theatre presents a program of filmed performances that were created during COVID isolation, over the past year. This showcase aims to feature inclusivity in drag styles, bodies, and themes. It spotlights how drag thrived during a time of extreme circumstances and uncertainty. We're proud to bring these incredible artists and their beautiful art to our QT community for the first time.
JORDAN STOVALL/WANDA WHATEVER
Jordan Stovall/Wanda Whatever (they/them) is a writer, drag artist, queer events producer, and arts advocate. As a drag artist (Wanda Whatever), they perform regularly in London and beyond. They host a series of queer community oriented spaces called FUSSY (in residence at the Yard Theatre, Hackney Wick), and BOULANGERIE: A Queer Variety Show (TimeOut London & QX Cabaret Award Nominations), giving platform to queer artists of all gender expressions, identities, and forms of artistic expression. They performed in Bushwig NYC 2019 and Bushwig Berlin 2019. They were a finalist in The Gold Rush Season 1, going on to win the special Christmas Edition hosted in December 2018 at The Glory. They have performed at the Sink the Pink Street Party, Top Shop Oxford Street, Concrete Shoreditch, Outside Pride, The Karaoke Hole, Cybil's House, Bar Wotever, The Glory, VFD, have appeared in cabarets at The Duplex (NY), New World Stages (NY), The West End (NY), and more. As a playwright/writer, they most recently completed studies for an M.F.A. in Writing for the Stage and Broadcast Media at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London, UK.
Prinx Silver (they/he) is your spicy Spanish Drag King sensation. They emigrated to the UK with one mission: to destroy the norms of the cis-heteronormative world! He's well known for his dramatic moves, political messages and for getting naked on stage... (you're welcome!). Prinx Silver took the London scene by storm in 2019, as the first drag King to win silver (wink) in The Gold Rush (the UK’s BEST drag competition!). That was followed by a bronze medal in Man Up 2019 at The Glory, and the rest is history. He's also the curator, producer, and Master of Ceremonies of Lèse-Majesté, a drag king/thing cabaret night produced by Friends of the Joiners Arms.
Vagenesis is DC's black bearded beauty. She started performing in spring of 2018 and has been taking the DC drag scene by storm. She brings her unique brand of comedy and charisma to each of her performances. Vagenesis is an activist, advocating for all styles of drag, queer people, and all people of color. She is the creator of Black Label - a showcase of black queer artistry - and promotes inclusive casting and representation in all of her shows. She is honored to have the chance to share her talents with you.
Nancy Nogood (she/her) is what you get if Pussy Riot headlined the Grand Ol Opry. Born out of a mind corrupted by downtown Manhattan, her work has brought her to Joe’s Pub and other stages and screens across the country, including Berkshire County, Massachusetts where she produces and hosts an annual competition, the Mx. Nogood Drag Pageant. She is the titleholder of Miss Berkshire 2020 and a member of The Pink Room: David Lynch Burlesque. Nancy is based in Coney Island.
Boudoir LeFleur (she/her) is a NYC based drag artist and member of the Haus of Assassins. She was named Entertainer of the Year at the 2019 GLAM Awards. Her high energy performances can be seen at venues across New York City and Fire Island throughout the summer. Instagram/Facebook: @dragwitch
China Moon (Robert L. Sharp, he/him) Born and raised in Bay County, Florida Robert L. Sharp grew up performing. Having gotten his start in church, singing on Sundays. His love for entertaining others grew as he did, and throughout high school he took several roles in school plays. As a philanthropist, Robert has volunteered countless hours to several organizations, and has even had the pleasure of impersonating the beloved Michael Jackson at Tebows Night to Shine celebrating those with special needs. However that is not where his efforts end. Robert can often be found loaning his time to those in need, as he is also an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. His wish is that no child ever feels alone, or unworthy of love.
