Sincerely, Erik and Andros in the City are two narrative short films, written and directed by Naz Riahi and shot amidst New York City's pandemic lockdown with a crew of two. Sincerely, Erik, winner of the Vimeo Best of the Year Award, follows a lonely bookseller as he navigates pandemic isolation as best as he can. In Andros in the City, the bookseller returns in a supporting role to Andros, a dancer who is contending with the uncertain future of his career.

Meet the artist


Naz is an award-winning, Iranian-American writer and director. Her short film Sincerely, Erik has screened widely and was chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick and won a Vimeo Best of the Year Award. It has garnered praise from Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), New York Times, Fast Company, LA Review of Books and Center for Fiction, among other publications and institutions. Her essays, journalism and fiction have been published widely. She's been twice nominated for James Beard Awards for her personal essays and has received a notable mention in The Best American Food Writing anthology. Naz holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the New School and lives in Brooklyn.
