Recharging Our Joy: Affinity Space

June 3 - July 1

All women, trans and non-binary community members, who identify as Black are invited to join Ann James (Intimacy Coordinators of Color) at these weekly 1-hour sessions focused on creating a safe space to celebrate joy.

Recharging Our Joy: Affinity Space for Black Women to Breathe and Smile Together is for Black women to gather, commune, share thoughts, responses, ideas and frustrations. Together they will participate in rituals, celebrate intersectionality, and work toward spiritual and mental healing in this turbulent cultural moment.

This space will invite participants to actively share and listen.

Due to the intimate nature of this work, space is limited to 20 participants per week.

These events are free, but do require preregistration.

About Ann James

Ann James has an extensive career in theatre education.

As an internationally certified educator she has had the opportunity to teach on four continents. Her stage directing career has allowed her to work on premier stages of the American Theatre such as Steppenwolf, Hartford Stage, The Alley and The Goodman.

With over 100 directing credits and in addition to owning China's only registered Expat theatre, DreamWeaver Productions, she is now devoted to making both stage and screen safe places for People of Color to practise their craft. To that end, Ms. James looks forward to pursuing America's first doctoral degree in Intimacy Direction for People of Color.
