This summer, Queens Theatre will step to a new beat in Flushing Meadows Corona Park with Queensboro Dance Festival. Queens Theatre and Queensboro Dance Festival will present you the "Queens Dance Party" series:
A series of 4 Tuesday evenings featuring all Queens-based dance performances, followed by a mini audience dance lesson and open dance floor party to a different Queens live band each week! Dance into the evening with us!
The free performances will start at 7:30pm ET on our new outdoor summer stage just yards away from our facilities in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Tickets are free but required.

Open Dance Party to the Live Music of Os Clavelitos
Flamenco Latino (Jackson Heights)’s Aurora Reyes is a respected flamenco dancer, choreographer, and teacher in the Flamenco communities of Spain and New York. She is of Spanish descent, which inspired her inquiry into flamenco. Aurora’s collaboration with composer Basilio Georges produced Flamenco Latino, a NY-based Flamenco dance company, fusing Flamenco and Afro-Caribbean traditions.
Cole Collective (Astoria)’s director Nicole Ohr is a professional tap dancer/choreographer/teacher based in Astoria, Queens. She has worked as a freelance artist, and is a current member of Germaine Salsberg’s Les Femmes and Artistic Director of Cole Collective. Nicole is also the producer of Dance Astoria.
Manhatitlan Mexican Folkloric Dance Group (Long Island City) was officially founded with its name 2 years go in 2019 but has been serving the community for over 8 years. Manhatitlan is based in Long Island City, Queens and is dedicated to bringing quality dance and production programming to its residents.
Meet the Band
Os Clavelitos is an "American Samba" band based in New York City, who creates original music combining traditional Brazilian rhythms (samba, baiao, bossa nova, and frevo) with English lyrics. With band members from Brazil, Japan, and the U.S., the six piece ensemble celebrates Brazil's rich musical heritage, while incorporating their eclectic performing backgrounds in "Latin", indie, jazz, pop, and folkloric styles. Os Clavelitos also perform traditional and popular Brazilian songs, sung in Portuguese. Os Clavelitos music and live performances celebrating community, inclusion and having fun. They often incorporate batucada (percussion ensemble) into their shows and present an upbeat, high energy performance that gets people up and dancing! Os Clavelitos' album, "Arriving", debuted at #1 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 World Chart and is #7 on the RMR Top 200 World Albums of 2016. Os Clavelitos is essentially about coming together to share culture and influences; conjuring an enchanting vista of sounds, as welcoming as a leisurely Sunday feast, abundant with food, friends, dancing, and samba for all. Os Clavelitos make a welcoming, big-hearted sound, inviting you to their samba parade, where we are all 'Arriving' joyfully home in our shared humanity.

Queensboro Dance Festival was launched in 2014 with the mission to strengthen the dance community in Queens, and inspire a greater appreciation of Queens dance.
