NAV Reading: Delivery
The New American Voices Reading Series moves online for Summer 2020 with three exciting new plays debuting the last Tuesday of the month in June, July, and August. The series concludes on August 25, 2020 at 8pm with Delivery, by Jelisa Jay Robinson and directed by Rubén González.
Three high school seniors, with the support of their English teacher, use slam poetry to express their views of the world around them. They compete for a space in the end of the year competition, and the winner will walk away with scholarship money and bragging rights. Welcome to the world of Black and Brown voices navigating through romance, living in the hood and police brutality.
The plays in the New American Voices Summer 2020 Virtual Reading Series are written by people of color, and examine issues surrounding race, culture, ethnicity, immigration, crime, and family from three completely distinct perspectives.
This stream will remain available for viewing until Friday, August 28. Viewing this reading is offered free of charge to everyone. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Queens Theatre to support ongoing - educational, community, and artistic - cultural opportunities while our facilities remain closed due to COVID-19.
