Moving Image Masterpieces

The great tradition of arthouse cinema is revived in this new collaboration between the Museum of the Moving Image and Queens Theatre in the Park. This new repertory series offers great movies on the big screen at QTP. For the inaugural series, the Museum has selected six essential masterpieces, movies that simply must be seen by anyone with a serious interest in the art of cinema. What these movies have in common is their artistic ambition; great directors creating new cinematic styles, using image, sound, editing, and performance to explore the most important universal themes. These are enduring masterpieces by six great directors: Orson Welles, Fritz Lang, Jean Renoir, Yasujiro Ozu, Federico Fellini, and Stanley Kubrick. Screenings will be introduced by David Schwartz, Chief Curator of the Museum of Moving Image.   

Tickets are $10 per film, $8 Multi Show discount. Special introductory offer: $30 film series pass for all six films.
