After last year's riveting performances of The Mountaintop, L.A. Theatre Works returns to Queens Theatre with a new production of Robert Harling's beloved comedy-drama Steel Magnolias.
Within the walls of Truvy's beauty shop, set in the deep bayous of Louisiana, are six strong women whose lives increasingly hinge on the existence of one another.
Together, they absorb the passing seasons, just like the weathered wooden structure of the salon "home" that they share.
At turns laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, the L.A. Theatre Works production of Steel Magnolias-performed in its signature radio-play style-reveals the strength of the human condition and our shared need for companionship.
