Theater maker/visual artist Jody Christopherson wanted to know why if the U.S. Census showed women make up more than 50 percent of the country's population, why were only 20 percent of the plays presented in the United States written by women?
Christopher's response is Necessary Exposure: The Female Playwright Project, a portrait and sound installation of contemporary playwrights who identify as female, in hopes of bringing awareness to the volume and diversity of voices she believes audiences should be seeing on stage.
