Queens Theatre proudly presents its 2012 Latino Cultural Festival, a four-day celebration of New York City’s Latin culture.  Now in its 16th year, the Festival is one of Queens Theatre’s cornerstone events, featuring theatre, film, music, dance, visual art and children’s programming from a variety of Latin communities in New York City and its most diverse borough: Queens.

The 2012 Festival is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.  The official radio stations of the Festival are Mega 97.9 FM and Amor 93.1 FM.  The 2012 Festival is also sponsored by Telemundo Channel 47 and El Especialito.

Experience classical tango at its best. In a seductive performance, these international artists embody the heat, the energy, and the controlled abandon that is the Argentine Tango. Tango y Vida" is truly multi-cultural experience! Led by renowned composer, Frank Valiente, Tango Y Vida II showcases the passion and precision of the Argentine Tango with a live orchestra. CORINA BARTRA & ORCHESTRA / GREGORIO URIBE BIG BAND

Experience world music in Latin style when Peru and Colombia share the the stage in one special night with Corina Bartra (Peru) and Gregorio Uribe (Colombia).  Bartra opens the night with her Afro-Peruvian-inspired contemporary Jazz followed by the traditional Colombian music, flavored with Afro-Cuban rhythms and Funk grooves, of Uribe’s 16-piece big band.  (Mainstage, $30).
